Cannes Lions 2019
What we did.
Having competed against over 50 submissions, five members of the agency were invited to take part in the Change for Good Hackathon at Cannes Lions 2019. In a matter of days, we were tasked with creating a concept that would help Earth Day Network collect a billion data points about a key environmental issues.
Under immense time pressure, we developed an idea with the lowest barrier of entry for everyone – the minimum input required being a simple WhatsApp message. All users had to do was snap a photograph of the sky and upload it to the platform to contribute to the mission.
Following two rounds of live presentations and judging from the likes of NASA and Amazon, we got all the way to gold. We left with five trophies and an enormous sense of pride in building an idea which has the ability to raise awareness and collect information.
